Time out in New Zealand

A nation-wide people-to-people initiative to help the people of Japan in their time of need.

This site is dedicated to connecting temporary offers of hosted accommodation from loving New Zealand families with Japanese people who wish to get out of Japan for some time out in New Zealand after the March 11th earthquake, devastating tsunamis and the ongoing nuclear threat. This initiative hopes to offer people from the affected regions of Japan, who are willing and able to travel, a chance to reboot their lives and have some "time out" from the terrible circumstances in which they currently live.

How can you help? If you have a spare room and are able to offer some temporary accommodation for anywhere from 7 to 90 days, please click here for registration details.

Need some "time out"? Whether you are a Japanese family, individual, couple or a parent wishing to send your child to New Zealand for a while until things settle down more in Japan, please register your interest here. Applications will only be accepted from those living in/from the Tohoku area.
